Mommy, I Need a Hug is written by Colleen Driscoll and illustrated by Naomi Brown. Little Cole loves bedtime. He loves brushing his teeth in front of the bathroom mirror and then putting on his pajamas. After his nightly routine of getting ready for bed, Cole’s mother tucks him in and gives him his goodnight hug. She turns to leave him for the night, only to be called back. Cole wants another hug. His mother happily gives him another hug. Caught up in his game, Cole calls his mother back again and again for another hug. Why was Cole calling his mother back for hugs? Why did she go back, knowing he was just going to call her back again?

I love the fun-loving way Colleen Driscoll expresses motherly love in Mommy, I Need A Hug. The ‘one more’ stage that kids go through can be very frustrating but with love and patience, parents can easily go through it without a problem. I love how Cole’s mother plays his ‘one more hug’ game even though Cole should already be asleep. The illustrations by Naomi Brown are colorful and beautiful as they help tell the story in pictures. I recommend Mommy, I Need A Hug to anyone with children that like to read or be read to. This story will surely become a favorite of any child of a reading age as it relates the true nature of a mother's unending love. I look forward to many more wonderful stories like this one from Driscoll.  ~
