I love visiting classrooms and meeting students to inspire them to use their own writing talents. Everyone has the ability to be a writer and storyteller.
For my picture books, my recommended audience is grades pre-K through fifth grade. I read one of my books as well as conduct an engaging, interactive activity before ending with a question and answer session.

What fun Rock Cave Elementary students and families had when Mrs. Driscoll visited us! We had planned and prepared for Piper the Elf and were not disappointed. Students and families each had an elf hat and picked up great writing tips and enjoyed listening to the adventures of Piper. Mrs. Driscoll was engaging to all and was very professional. We look forward to future publications and visits!! ~ Amanda Craig, Principal, Rock Cave Elementary, Rock Cave, WV
I highly recommend Colleen Driscoll for an author visit. Colleen has visited our school three times to share her Piper the Elf books and we’ve absolutely loved her presentations! With a warm and friendly demeanor, Colleen uses props and interactive activities to captivate and thoroughly engage students in her stories. Winner of the Mom’s Choice Award, her books use colorful, vibrant illustrations to help teach important lessons about teamwork, helping others, and safety. Teachers will appreciate the sequencing, story map, and classroom ideas handouts that Colleen provides for incorporating her books into the curriculum. ~Judy Beda, Librarian, St. Thomas Aquinas Regional School, Woodbridge, VA
Author Colleen Driscoll visited the students at St. Mark Catholic School last week and shared her latest book, "Buddy's Special Mission". Our students loved the story of Buddy, helping to care for the family while the father was deployed. The message of the book can be a comfort to children with a family member on active duty, as well as, a reminder to all children about the sacrifices our military families make. Students were also able to learn about the writing process from a published author and ask questions of their own. This wonderful event closed with a very special slideshow! ~Denise Leuci, Assistant Principal, St. Mark Catholic School, Wilmington, NC
Colleen Driscoll did a wonderful job of making her characters come alive during her visit with our school. The students anxiously awaited to hear the next page and to see where the penguin character might reappear. She concluded with fun activities that incorporated movement! Our students enjoyed her books and were inspired to write! ~Shelly Kraus, St. Patrick School, Weston, WV
Colleen Driscoll came to our school and read BUDDY'S SPECIAL MISSION. It was an engaging and interesting show. She spoke to grades pre-K thru 2nd, and was able to keep the attention of our youngest students. They asked thoughtful questions during the Q&A, and she interacted so nicely with the students. Thank you, Colleen! The TAES PTO was proud to have you come visit! We would invite you back anytime!~ Melissa Reed Spicer, PTO Board Member, Tyrone Area Elementary, Tyrone, PA

Students in 4th & 5th grades usually like to hear my experience of the writing process, working with an illustrator, and learn ways of becoming a better writer. I end with a question and answer session.
